Andrey Makarevich is a legend of Russian rock music and a genuinely fascinating personality. Some 33 years ago – in fact exactly at the time that the Beatle’s back in the USSR was written! – Andrey created one of the first Soviet underground bands ‘Mashina Vremeni’ – ‘The Time Machine’. The group became an icon of free artistic expression for several generations of Russian people and caused a musical revolution in the country similar to what The Beatles and The Rolling Stones did to the music culture globally.
